Vanessa Worrall is a British artist of Latvian heritage whose work is inspired by the natural world and rooted in a lifelong passion for painting.
Growing up on a farm in Norfolk fostered a deep connection to the countryside, which continues to inform her expressive, layered practice.
Now based in Taunton, Somerset, having previously lived in coastal Brighton, Vanessa draws on her surrounding landscapes for inspiration. She often photographs and digitally manipulates imagery taken in the countryside and beyond as a starting point for her oil and acrylic paintings.
Vanessa’s practice spans a wide range of subject matter, from the quiet beauty of wild flora, roadside verges, and overlooked
spaces, to evocative, textural seascapes and characterful feline portraits.
Vanessa studied Fine Art at Norwich School of Art and Reading University (BA Hons). She has exhibited widely across the South West, Brighton, London, and Norfolk, with paintings selected and sold at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2020, 2024, and 2025.
She currently shows work regularly at The Orchard Gallery, Taunton, as part of Go Create, an award-winning, community-based arts organisation located within the Arts Hub in Taunton.
